2-SLAG
HANDLING :

-Removal
of slag from under the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) to the cooling
area as often as required to allow the steel-making process to
continue.
|
|
|
-Removal
of slag from the Ladle Furnace area slag pen on a daily
basis.
|
|
|
-Transportation
of slag from the Electric Arc Furnace cooling area to the slag dump
area by truck over a distance of not more than one kilometer from
the plant.
|
|
|
-Transportation
of the Ladle Furnace slag from the Ladle Furnace slag pen to the
metal cutting area.

3-MATERIAL
HANDLING:
|
|
|
-Raw
Materials:These
include Carbon, Lime, Coke, Ferroalloys etc. These arrive to the plant in
either containers or jumbo bags, which will be un-loaded and stored.
Where the raw materials arrive in containers, they will be
discharged from their containers before being transported to their
storage area. These raw materials will then be transported to the
belt conveyors as required.

-Refractories
and consumables:Unloading
of the incoming containers of Refractories (bricks/monolithic),
Graphite Electrodes and any Spare Parts, discharging the materials
from the containers and transporting the materials to their
specified stores and reloading the containers on the
trailers.
